Types of Development: 


The types of development are as follows –

1.      1. Physical Development:-

     It is the most important development in the life of a child. It   includes walking, jumping, catching, writing, drawing,   painting etc. these types of skills. It includes motor skills.
     This development is also called maturation.

2.      2. Cognitive Development:-

     It focuses on how children learn and process information.   This development indicates the development of intelligence.

3.      3. Social and Emotional Development:-

    This development indicates the sound social development among children. According to Hurlock, “social development means acquisition of the ability to behave in accordance with social expectations.”



4.      4. Language Development:-

    Language is the interaction with each other through various  methods of communication that includes writing, speaking, sign language. But apart from this language is the more important medium of communication. Through language, one can express one's thoughts, desires and feelings to others. So the development of language is more important in the life of children.

5.      5. Moral Development:-

I   It deals with ethics and moral standards, the development of values ​​and the ability to judge a law with ethics. Children cannot make moral decisions until they have reached a certain level of cognitive maturity. So moral development is also very important for the development of children's lives.

  •  Stages of Child Development:-

    Stages of child development classified into the following stages –

1.    1. Infants/Babies – Age should be between 0 to 2  years.

2.    2. Toddlers or Preschoolers – Age should be between  2 to 5 years.

3.    3. School age children – Age should be between 6 to  12 years.

4.    4. Adolescents or Teenagers – Age should be between  13 to 18 years.

  • Factors Responsible for Growth and Development:-

    The following are the important factors that are directly or indirectly responsible for the growth and development-

1.    1.   Heredity.
2.    2.   Environment.
3.    3.   Nutrition.
4.    4.   Child Gender.
5.    5.   Early Stimulation.
6.    6.   Child Rearing Practice.
